Description: Two horn players blowing long animal horn-shaped instruments. One points into air, other held under arm. Found on stone slabs in Bronze-Age cist.

Lur on Rock Carving

Description: This image has generally been interpreted as a player blowing a pre-lur. I would suggest that the player is blowing a J-shaped instrument such as a lituus. That is not to say that it could not have been a pre-cursor to later lurs.
