Findspot: The Marsoulas cave, one of the many painted caves in the Haute-Garonne area of southern France. The distance between that cave and the nearest point of the Mediterranean coast is around 170 km (just over 100 miles)

Description: An end-blown Charonia nodifera (Lamarck) shell, the Mediterranean species. It is listed by the Muséum de Toulouse as being 310×180×180 mm. Recent examination has shown that it has a very-carefully worked blowing aperture.
